One Teacher Education Program

Propel Industries and Westric Trust jointly started “One Teacher Education Program” an evening tuition centre project at Madukkarai Block - Tribal Settlement, Coimbatore, which hopes to drive the children's desire to learn and grow. As a result of the pandemic, the children were forced to stay indoors with schools being shutdown; children became one of the worst victims in this pandemic. While many children shifted to digital mode of learning, the less privileged children did not have similar access to technology and their education came to a halt. The biggest question for these tribal children and their families is – WILL THE PANDEMIC BE AN END TO THEIR EDUCATION, THEIR DREAMS? To tackle this issue, Propel is happy to partner with Westric Trust for the evening tuition centre initiative to provide quality education to these children.

The evening tuition centre building was inspected and inaugurated by Ms. Vidhya Senthilkumar, Director – Branding & CSR accompanied by the CSR team on 13th January 2022. This 150 sq. ft building will accommodate one teacher with 25 children and provide a platform for the tribal children to access break-free education during these pandemic times. After classes we provide healthy snacks to the children every day.

After the inauguration the entire team had an ice-breaking session with the children along with their parents, we could see smiling faces all around.

A special mention should be made about the cooperation and good will of the entire community for this project. We at Propel feel privileged to be able to help this dynamic and hardworking community. The community members, parents and children appreciated the entire team for the timely support which will have a huge impact on the lives and careers of the next generation.
