How Megha Giant Stone Industries Built Its Vijayawada Crushing Plant with Propel
Productivity Enhancement | October 23, 2026
Megha Giant Stone Industries, an aggregate producer in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, set up a complete Propel crushing and screening plant on a small, compact site. After the layout was approved, Propel completed the erection in one and a half months and handed the plant over in running condition. The plant now produces 40 mm, 20 mm, 12 mm and 6 mm aggregates, plus dust. A story of innovation, shared by those behind it

The Challenge: Right Sizes, Consistent Quality, Compact Site
In the aggregate business, crushing rock is just the beginning. The real test is what comes after: can a plant produce the right sizes, produce them consistently, and keep up when demand increases?
For Megha Giant Stone Industries, four needs had to be met:
- High production: enough output to keep up as demand grows
- Multiple products: several graded sizes from one plant.
- Consistent quality: in the company’s words, “uncompromised quality”, every time.
- Compact site: a complete plant on a small piece of land.
Why Megha Giant Chose Propel
Mr. Mohammad Javed Khan’s family has been in the crusher field since 2009, and he has worked in it since 2015. The partner team also includes Mr. Pilla Venkateswara Rao (PVR), who has 30 years of experience in the crusher field.
Before investing, the team studied the crushers available. “When we all researched the available crushers together, we learned that Propel crusher was very good overall, so we approached them,” says Mr. Javed Khan.
“We shared our land details and other requirements with them. They provided the best layout and a good design, even for a small, compact space.”

The Plant Line-Up: What’s Installed at Megha Giant
The plant is a three-stage crushing and screening line:
- Primary stage: Propel AVJ 811 Jaw Crusher - reduces large, blasted boulders to primary-crushed feed.
- Secondary stage: Propel QM 250 Cone Crusher - reduces the primary output to intermediate sizes.
- Tertiary stage: Propel AVVI Vertical Shaft Impactor (VSI) - shapes the aggregate into cubical grains through rock-on-rock impact.
- Screening: 2 × Propel MVS 2060 4-Deck Vibrating Screens - grade the material into separate sizes and return oversize for further crushing.
How the Plant Works, Step by Step
The flow is designed to produce every required size in as few passes as possible:
- Primary crushing- Blasted rock from the quarry is fed into the AVJ 811 jaw crusher, which breaks large boulders down to a manageable size.
- Secondary crushing- The QM 250 cone crusher reduces the primary output further.
- First screening- The first MVS 2060 4-deck screen sorts the stone into separate fractions.
- Tertiary shaping- Oversize is sent to the AVVI VSI, where rock-on-rock impact shapes it into cubical grains.
- Final grading- The second 4-deck screen classifies the finished product.
- Stockpiling- Each size is conveyed to its own stockpile, ready for dispatch.

Erection in 1.5 Months: From Design Approval to Running Plant
Once Megha Giant approved the layout, Propel completed the full plant erection in one and a half months. “They completed the entire erection within one and a half months. They handed the plant over to us in running condition,” says Mr. Javed Khan.
For a new plant, this timeline matters: every week saved before production starts is a week of earlier dispatches.
The Products: 40, 20, 12, 6 mm and Dust
After handover, the plant started producing five products:
- 40 mm- coarse aggregate for road base layers and mass concrete.
- 20 mm- coarse aggregate, the standard size for general concrete work.
- 12 mm- coarse aggregate for concrete and road surfacing.
- 6 mm- chips for premix and surface dressing.
- Dust- the fine material produced during crushing.
Producing several sizes from one plant lets Megha Giant serve different customer requirements without depending on a single product.

The VSI That Helped Win Orders
Mr. Javed Khan names the VSI product as the highlight of the plant. A VSI uses rock-on-rock impact to shape aggregate into cubical grains, a shape buyers look for in concrete and road work.
“What I liked about it was the VSI product. It was really awesome, and I liked it a lot. Every customer was very happy when they saw the product. They said, ‘Wow, this is very good,’ and that helped us get every order.”

“Even though we had set up a new crusher, we became very successful because of that product,” he adds.
Recommended to New Crusher Owners
Other crusher owners noticed. “Many people came to see our crusher because they were considering setting up a new crusher themselves,” says Mr. Khan. “I recommended it to them wholeheartedly.”
He explained the plant to them in detail, and they told him they would be happy to try Propel too.
